Wyrmwood The Legacy

Wyrmwood began 7 years ago as a five-piece band - vocals, bass, guitar, synth & live tribal drums. They played old school style Goth, with audible influences from The Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Bauhaus, and Dead Can Dance. After about 3 ½ years and various changes to the lineup, Wyrmwood had released 2 demos, “Inceptum” and “Exordium.” Soon after, Wyrmwood became a two-piece featuring its original founding members, Aria and Lysa. Ready for a change in style, they decided to explore a more electronic approach. Within the first 4-6 months Wyrmwood had completed another demo entitled "Graver," which consisted of remixes of older songs that had been played with the full band, but Wyrmwood ultimately decided it was time to revamp with all-new material, created by just the two remaining members exploring new territories of darkwave and electronica.

Self-described as both “gothic" and "darkwave,” Wyrmwood's 2003 full-length debut, "Strange Angels" is a compelling journey through pain and sorrow, arriving ultimately at self-reflection and spirituality. While the album's lyrical content started out very dark and mystical at first, it changed and evolved as time went on to reflect the band's belief in the power of God over all things. Wyrmwood wanted to create music with more spiritual energy, for themselves as well as for their audience, posing certain situations and ideas in their music, but ultimately letting the listener interpret the meaning and experience their own reaction to it.

Having already shared the stage with such legends as the Mission U.K. and Sex Gang Children, Wyrmwood plans to continue playing the music they love and believe in, in hopes that it touches someone out there…
